This year Jake and I hosted our first ever Friendsgiving. The decision to throw this dinner party happened at 6PM two nights before the event itself. Good job to my fiends for helping throw this together in that short of notice. Everyone brought a dish to the event and it really was a great night.
I made Jake help me scrub the kitchen floor and buy a new rug for under the table in preparation for everyone coming over. I also made a pretty decent centerpiece of string lights wrapped around pine cones in a basket to go on the table since we weren’t going to have a turkey sitting there (we all agreed on chicken…everyone but Dan White).
I made gluten free brownies and cornbread, a cheese platter, sweet corn, green beans, and deviled eggs. Jake went out and bought two rotisserie chickens and sliced them for everyone. Jordan and Danny made gluten free mac&cheese and mashed potatoes. Gabby brought creamed corn, rolls, gluten free pasta salad, and wine. Ashley brought the pies, and Dan White brought soda, tea, and cranberry sauce. Needless to say, we had a pretty good set up.
After everyone ate all they could and fought to eat every last bit of the mashed potatoes, we a played a game of charades at the table. It was truly a great time. I was happy to have a nice dinner with all of my friends seated around me.
I am thankful for all of them.
