This family friendly farm is not only a seasonal pumpkin patch, but also a travel back in time. A local amusement park, Enchanted Forest, closed down many years ago and instead of tearing it all down, this farm saved as much as it could and moved pieces to this location. Now scattered through the farm is a collection of toadstools, and fairytale statues.

I went this past weekend with my boyfriend and his sister on a mission to pet some goats. For the admission price of $7.50 and a couple of quarters for the feeder, you can spend the entire day in a pen of goats…aka heaven. I would not recommend going on a weekend so close to Halloween though because it was very crowded with costumed children and moms with strollers. Nevertheless, we parked and started the trek from the car to the entrance only stopping once to look at flowers and butterflies…I really like nature. Then after 10 minutes of trying to catch a butterfly, we continued the mission to the goats. We paid the fee, went in, and B-lined straight for the petting zoo portion.

At which point, I made a new friend. We got the goat to scale the little bridge and sit next to me while posing for photos. I was living my best life in that moment…obviously. We stayed there much longer than my boyfriend or his sister probably wanted, and then continued on to see what other animals the farm had for us to see. Of course, none of them would possibly compare to the goats. Oh, and I got to stop and play with another goat before we left the pen as well. Really overall, 10/10 experience. There were also cows, donkeys, rabbits, sheep, chicken, and an emu to see. However, not all of them could be touched or fed. The emu was a terrifying dinosaur bird, and the donkey wasn’t as soft as he looked…just in case you were wondering. They also offered trough-like sinks for everyone to wash their hands after touching the animals, which I thought was really cool. From there we just continued walking around the property. We didn’t get to ride the hay ride at all, although it was free with our admission, because the lines were insanely long. We had too many things to see and no want to just stand in line for an hour.

To my boyfriends dismay, we then spent the last 30 minutes or so of our trip having a photo shoot. He was a good sport, but very ready to go home.

My boyfriend’s sister, Hannah, runs a photography Instagram account where you can find other photos from her @hannah.mariephotography.
